Uday is a great fan of architect, teacher and philosopher Mies van der Rohe, in particular the way he played with structure and elements such as metal, glass and curtain walls. His perspective provides Udaya with daily inspiration as he strives to incorporate innovative, unique ideas into each design, ensuring the end result addresses the clients needs in an environmentally sensitive way.
Projects with time and budget challenges would see many run in the opposite direction, but for Uday it’s these projects that provide excitement and energy. He’ll look at every aspect of the project, from materials through to construction methods, to come up with the elusive gem that is the answer to the problem.
Uday joined Space Matrix in 2006 following a decade long career with various firms
in India. He is currently a Director with responsibility for the design studio. As lead designer he is responsible for every aspect of a project including delivering conceptual designs, documentation, managing relationships with clients and contractors and implementation.
