Coca-Cola
Context:
In 2009 Coca-Cola began a global overhaul of its corporate identity, including office spaces. India based Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd engaged Space Matrix
to undertake the design and build of their new corporate offices in Gurgaon.
Challenge:
We faced several challenges on this project including an extremely aggressive
timeline for completion, a greater number of staff to be accommodated than originally
anticipated and the client’s desire to integrate the new corporate identity into the design without it being too overbearing.
Solution:
To overcome the challenges around the number of staff to available space, we utilised the concept of “hotelling”. To make the environment feel more spacious, in addition to 175 regular desks we created 50 hot desks for the field sales team to use when they were in the office.
To further increase the feeling of spaciousness we placed all offices and meeting
rooms at the core of the building. This left space for the open plan work areas at
the external face of the building, taking advantage of maximum light and ventilation.
To showcase the different identities under the Coca-Cola umbrella such as Sprite, Fanta and Limca, we dedicated meeting rooms and other spaces to each brand.
The design and detail involved in creating these spaces ensured a unique and interesting workplace for everyone.
The end result was a bold, distinctive design that subtly showcased the new identity
for all to see.
"The look and feel created by Space Matrix for our office is fantastic. Our compliments to the team for doing such a good job in a short time. It was a pleasure to work with
you and we hope to do a lot of work in the future." Real Estate Manager – India, Coca-Cola.
