The Challenge
Dayforce aimed to combine two existing offices into a single hybrid workspace to encourage a more flexible and dynamic work environment. They wanted to create a space that not only attracted employees back to the office but also fostered collaboration, creativity, and innovation.
Key challenges included:
Outdated branding and space design
Insufficient collaboration spaces to support both formal and informal work settings
A need for various work environments, such as hot desking, to accommodate a flexible headcount of 55-100 employees
Integration of local culture and branding while maintaining a modern aesthetic

The Solution
To address Dayforce's requirements, the Space Matrix design team developed a concept that seamlessly integrated Dayforce's global branding with elements reflecting local culture. The solution included:
Branding and Local Influence: The new space seamlessly integrates Dayforce's branding guidelines with elements of local culture, creating an environment that feels both dynamic and familiar for employees, fostering a stronger sense of belonging.
Flexible Work Settings: A variety of work environments were created, including ergonomic furniture and hot-desking setups to support hybrid work. These elements promoted employee health and wellness, aligning with broader business objectives by enhancing productivity, fostering collaboration, and attracting top talent through a supportive and adaptable workspace.
Collaboration and Social Spaces: A larger collaboration zone was designed to act as a central social hub for employees, enhancing interaction and teamwork. Additionally, a spacious work café was designed to be used for town halls and training sessions, optimising the limited space available.
Technology Integration: Advanced features such as a facility management (FM) system, room and seat booking, and video conferencing (VC) systems were implemented to meet global standards and support a tech-driven workspace.
Sustainability: To align with environmental goals, sustainable materials were used, including motion-sensor lighting, live plants, and green-label carpets, promoting a healthy and eco-friendly office.

The redesigned office successfully met Dayforce’s objectives by creating an engaging and collaborative environment that fostered innovation and flexibility. Key outcomes included:
Increased Employee Engagement: The new work settings, ergonomic furniture, and inviting social areas encouraged employees to return to the office, enhancing collaboration.
Optimised Space Utilisation: The flexible design accommodated Dayforce’s headcount variability while offering an optimal balance of meeting rooms, hot desks, and social points.
Cultural Connection: By incorporating local crafts and nature-inspired artwork, the space resonated deeply with employees, blending global brand identity with a unique cultural touch.
Enhanced Collaboration: The larger work café and collaboration zones allowed for better teamwork and facilitated casual interactions, directly supporting Dayforce's organisational goals of innovation and employee engagement.
