Designing the Atelier space for ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra in collaboration with Reliance Brand Ltd. posed a unique challenge for our team. The space needed to serve as an office cum studio, while also showcasing Manish Malhotra as the person, artist, and fashion icon that he is.

The design had to reflect the brand's journey from celebrity styling to a global haute couture brand, along with a luxury jewellery and makeup line. Our challenge was to create a space that not only emanated high-end luxury but also provided a respite from the vibrant colors the fashion designers were surrounded by all day.

To address the challenge, our design team followed a carefully curated neutral and nude colour palette, with white being the predominant colour in various shades and textures. Occasional additions of gold and black enhanced the luxury quotient. By adopting this neutral canvas, we allowed the fashion creations to take centre stage, setting the perfect backdrop for drama, dazzle, and spectacle.

The two floors of the Atelier house the entire design team, organised into various departments, alongside cabins for business leads. The client areas include a conference room, private dining cum meeting lounge, a showroom space for photoshoots, trials, make-up, and brainstorming spaces, both enclosed and open to accommodate large teams. Symmetry was employed in spatial and visual elements to create order and beauty, while the science of Vastu played a significant role in zoning various spaces and the selection of materials.

Craftsmanship and attention to detail were paramount in this project. We meticulously selected furniture, fabrics, rugs, lamps, and accents to reminisce the classic beauty in fashion and decor, and celebrate craftsmanship. The intricate details were developed in 3D Max, ensuring the exact scale of details, lighting effects, and material textures to meet the client's satisfaction and to project the design.

The Atelier for Manish Malhotra is a stunning space that not only represents the brand's ethos but also captivates and inspires all who enter. It is a space that comes to life through the intricacies of design and the carefully curated details and accents that add an aura of luxury, while the symmetrical layout brings a sense of order and beauty that is associated with the brand.

Manish Malhotra's dream of bringing all units under a single roof and creating a studio that reflects his journey, achievements, and vision was successfully realised. The Atelier now serves as a professional space for the design team, while also providing an inviting space to entertain celebrity clientele.

The Atelier became a perfect canvas for showcasing Manish Malhotra's artistic brilliance and the brand's evolution from celebrity styling to a global haute couture and luxury brand.
