The Challenge
Every workplace begins with a question. For Work.able's new center in Makati City, that question was: How do you create a premium workplace experience inside a legacy building while maximizing every square foot for commercial success?
Located within Robinsons Summit Center, an established commercial tower in the heart of Makati City, the project represented more than a new co-working destination. It was an opportunity to redefine what the next generation of Work.able spaces could become.
The business objective was straightforward. The floor needed to accommodate 190 seats, but achieving this target could not come at the cost of experience. The workplace needed to feel aspirational rather than crowded. A destination that encouraged community rather than simply providing desks. A space with a strong identity that could stand apart in an increasingly competitive market.

The Solution
The transformation began with a clear planning strategy: maximize occupancy without compromising experience. Every design decision was anchored in this objective, ensuring the workplace felt intentional, premium, and community-driven rather than simply efficient.
The layout was carefully organized around the building's geometry to unlock every usable square foot while maintaining a clear spatial hierarchy. Workstations, private offices, and shared amenities were strategically positioned to create intuitive circulation, support different work modes, and comfortably accommodate 190 seats without creating a sense of crowding.
With the planning framework established, the design narrative brought the space to life. Inspired by the concept A New Pulse Within Timeless Walls, the workplace embraces the character of its legacy setting while introducing fresh energy, flexibility, and opportunities for connection.
The arrival experience sets the tone, with warm materials and subtle references to traditional Filipino architecture creating an immediate sense of familiarity and quality. Beyond reception, the work café serves as the social anchor of the workplace-a vibrant destination designed to foster interaction, collaboration, and community among members.
To enhance the experience of a high-density environment, open sightlines, greenery, and a carefully curated material palette create a sense of spaciousness and visual relief throughout the floor. Accents inspired by the colours of the Philippine flag add moments of local identity, grounding the workplace in its context while maintaining a contemporary appeal.
Flexibility was embedded throughout the design through adaptable office configurations and demountable partitions, allowing spaces to evolve alongside tenant needs. This future-ready approach ensures long-term value while supporting Work.able's growth ambitions.
Together, these interventions transformed density from a constraint into a strategic advantage-creating a workplace that feels connected, dynamic, and distinctly Work.able while delivering on its commercial objectives.

The Result
The completed workplace demonstrates that density does not have to diminish experience. What was once simply a floor within a legacy building has been transformed into a destination that feels contemporary, connected, and alive. Every square foot works harder, yet the workplace never feels defined by efficiency alone.
Instead, it offers something increasingly valuable in today's flexible work landscape: a sense of place. The workplace successfully achieved its occupancy targets while delivering a richer workplace experience-one that balances commercial performance with community, flexibility with identity, and functionality with emotion.
Most importantly, it established a new benchmark for what Work.able's future centers could aspire to be. By breathing new energy into an existing building, the project proved that workplace transformation is not always about building something entirely new. Sometimes, it is about uncovering new possibilities within what already exists. The result is a workplace that feels both rooted and forward-looking-a new pulse within timeless walls.
